Described is a medical adapter assembly comprising an end including a neuraxial fitting that is not directly connectable to a standard luer fitting, an opposing end including a fitting connectable to an intravenous medical device, and a check valve that allows fluid flow from the end with the standard luer fitting to the end with the neuraxial fitting, but prevents fluid flow from the end with the neuraxial fitting to the end with the standard luer fitting. Methods of using the medical adapter assembly and kits containing the medical adapter assembly are also described.

La présente invention concerne un ensemble adaptateur médical comprenant une extrémité comprenant un connecteur neuraxial qui n’est pas directement connectable à un connecteur luer standard, une extrémité opposée comprenant un connecteur luer standard pouvant être connecté à un connecteur luer standard d’un dispositif médical intraveineux, et un clapet de non-retour qui permet au liquide de s’écouler depuis l’extrémité ayant le connecteur luer standard vers l’extrémité ayant le connecteur neuraxial, mais qui empêche le liquide de s’écouler depuis l’extrémité ayant le connecteur neuraxial vers l’extrémité ayant le connecteur luer standard. L’invention concerne également des procédés d’utilisation de l’ensemble adaptateur médical et des kits contenant l’ensemble adaptateur médical.
